About Budapest

Budapest is the capital and largest city in Hungary. This city is located on the Danube River. Budapest is considered a beautiful city and attracts many visitors.

This city was first settled by Celts in the between the third and fourth century B.C. This was once three settlements known as Buda, Pest, and Obuda. These were united under the name Budapest in 1873 when the first permanent bridge was built over the Danube River.

This bridge was the first to be built across the Hungarian portion of the Danube River and was completed in 1849.

This building was completed in 1884 and is home to the State Opera and the State Ballet. Danube Palace also offers entertainment.
